Model Highlights

Redesigned for 2007, the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe SUVs continue to be the bowtie's largest utility offerings. The Suburban is available in half-ton and three-quarter ton capability, while the Tahoe is only half-ton. Both vehicles come in two and four-wheel drive models. The Suburban is a slightly more expensive version of the Tahoe, primarily because of its 15 more cubic feet of cargo space and its large exterior dimensions. Timed with GM's pickup re-design, both vehicles look much different for the 2007 model year, and both models use GM's newest full-size truck chassis, which is substantially stiffer than the previous version. The Suburban and Tahoe also get a new front and rear suspension design. The brakes and the steering have been similarly reworked to be more responsive, and load-leveling Autoride air suspension is now available. The same 4.8L V8 engine from last year continues on for the Tahoe, although it now produces ten additional horsepower. The 5.3L is standard on the Suburban and on the 4WD Tahoes, and is also available in flex-fuel form. A 6.0L 352-horsepower V8 engine is optional on the Suburban. Chevrolet now also offers active fuel management, which shuts off four cylinders at cruising speed. On both the Tahoe and Suburban, a third-row seat is optional, expanding seating capacity to nine. Both Tahoe and Suburban comes with front seat frontal air bags as standard. Head curtain air bags are optional for the first and second row. Power pedals are optional as well, and require the purchase of the rear parking assist system. On the LT trim, fog lamps become standard equipment, as do heated power mirrors, front six-way power bucket seats and additional power outlets. The LTZ is the top trim, and it includes a locking rear differential, a power rear door window, 20-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, leather front bucket seats, heated second-row bucket seats, remote start, power adjustable pedals, rear parking assist, and side curtain air bags.
